2017 Allatoona Book Festival News

Book signing at the Main Street Gallery August 19th

Jaclyn Weldon White, Keynote Speaker at the 2nd Annual Allatoona Book Fest this October and fellow author Katie Smith, coordinator of the PEN women's Painted Sound Workshop will be at the Acworth Cultural Art Center's Main Street Gallery 4815b S. Main Street in downtown Acworth on Saturday August 19th from 3- 6 p.m. The public is invited to meet and greet the authors in person.

Katie Hart Smith will be discussing - "Aspirations of the Heart" & "Couch Time with Carolyn". Books will be available for purchase. Author, Jackie Weldon White will be discussing her books, available at: http://www.jaclynweldonwhite.com 

Presenters at last week's Painted Sound Workshop sponsored by the Atlanta Chapter of the League of American PEN women. The workshop presentations included visual arts, music and literary art forms. The Painted Sound workshop was a preview of the workshop to be presented as part of the Allatoona Book Fest in October.

The 2017 Allatoona Book Fest Advisory Committee is up and running!  

Members include Amy BeVille, ACAC Board member Daniel Boffey, ACAC Board President, Nichole Knox, Acworth Library Manager, Elizabeth Roberts, Author of "The Social WordSmith," Marketing& Social Media Specialist, Claudia McCormick White, Who Founded the Seattle Writers Association in 1986, and has a 40 year history working with writers and Mary Zurn, Acworth resident and community liaison.


Writers, panel proposals and Vendors


 The second annual Allatoona Book Fest will be held the first weekend in October at the Roberts School Community Center in Historic Downtown Acworth. This event is free and open to the public.

Deadline for submissions for authors, panels and vendors is July 30. Program details will be announced as they are finalized. Help support the Festival by becoming a volunteer or sponsor. Writers and writers organizations are invited to submit presentation proposals.   


Jaclyn Weldon White  

Jaclyn Weldon White, the author of nine published books and numerous articles in local and regional magazines will be the Keynote Speaker at the 2nd Annual Allatoona Book Fest, October 7 – 9 in Downtown Acworth Georgia.

Ms. White, Hoschton, GA was born, raised and lived all her life in the South. Known for her mystery writings, she has also authored non-fiction and was the Georgia Author of the Year for Biography in 2011.   



The League of American PEN Women Atlanta

Branch will be conducting a workshop at the 2017 Allatoona Book Festival! PEN women have offered to lead a interactive workshop that is based on the cross-fertilization of the arts, literary, visual and musical to create inspired works. Artists, writers, poets and composers as well as readers and those who just want to be inspired.
