The Acworth Cultural Arts Center (ACAC) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation formed to enhance art education and awareness of the arts here. Community leaders in government, cultural organizations, artists and individual supporters of the arts have come together to create opportunities to engage our community in the growth and preservation of our arts and culture. The ACAC supports fine arts printmaking with the Red Onion Press, visual arts, musical performances and poetry readings and other forms of creative endeavors. With the 2016 Allatoona Book Festival last October, the ACAC along with a number of local sponsors, with funding from the Georgia Council for Humanities provided a significant opportunity for Georgia writers and readers to come together and celebrate the written as well as the spoken word. Our vision is to become a platform and a catalyst for the arts in North Georgia.
The Acworth Cultural Arts Center is located in Historic Downtown Acworth, Georgia, 35 miles north of Atlanta. The art center includes two locations, The Main Street Gallery at 4815b Main Street, Acworth GA, and the Red Onion Press and ACAC office, at 4367 Senator Russell Blvd, directly behind the Gallery.
The summer hours for the Main Street Gallery are 3 to 7 PM Wednesdays thru Saturdays. We are also open for special events at other times. The Red Onion Press is open during classes and by appointment. Our telephone number is (770)231-7751.
